The Food Trust kicks off the farmers’ market season of our 20th Anniversary year on Sunday, April 29th with a Pancake Breakfast! Join Food Trust staff, friends, fans, and farmers for a home-style meal, prepared by chefs Mitch and Jennifer Prensky of Supper restaurant and Global Dish Caterers. Enjoy fresh ingredients from local farms, including griddle-cooked pancakes, Spring Hills maple syrup, farm-fresh cream from Natural by Nature, apple-rhubarb compote made with Three Springs Fruit Farm produce and, of course, plenty of Philly Fair Trade Roasters coffee. Proceeds benefit The Food Trust’s farmers’ markets, and our work to bring nutritious food to all Philadelphia families.
The Food Trust will kick off the 2012 farmers’ market season one week later on Sunday, May 6th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Headhouse Farmers’ Market Opening Day. Celebrating its sixth season, the Headhouse Farmers’ Market, located under the Shambles at 2nd and Lombard streets, is the city’s largest and most popular open-air farmers’ market.

Supper, opened in 2007 by husband-and-wife team Mitch Prensky and Jennifer London Prensky of The Global Dish Caterers, is an upscale, modern American restaurant serving up homey but refined cuisine, and their mix of seasonal, locally sourced flavorful ingredients and flawless execution have drawn accolades from critics and won a loyal following of guests. Supper has received three bells from Philadelphia Inquirer's restaurant critic Craig LaBan and praised by The New York Times as "perfectly capturing the current spirit of Philadelphia dining." Chef Prensky is also Executive Chef at the newly opened Lemon Hill in Fairmount, where he dishes up casual American classics with a twist.
